TOP STORY TOP UPDATES

Instagram just rolled out a series of updates that could impact how you create and engage on the platform. Here’s a quick rundown of the new features and how you can use them to your advantage:

  1. Comments on Stories: You can now comment on friends' Stories, and these comments are visible to anyone who views the Story.

  2. Collaborative Carousels: Instagram now lets others collab with your photo or video carousels. You approve collab, and usernames will be visible.

  3. Collages: Instagram is testing a new feature that allows you to create collages from your camera roll to share in chats. Although it’s not fully rolled out yet, this could be huge for Gen Z engagement. Collages are trending, and they’ve been a hit on platforms like Pinterest. Keep an eye on this feature—it might become a go-to format for connecting with younger audiences.

  4. Text-Based Creative Tools: Instagram has introduced expanded text options for Reels, Stories, Photos, and Carousels. You now have more fonts, effects, animations, and a simplified text tool, all within the app. This means you can create more polished content without needing third-party apps like Canva or CapCut, making it easier to maintain your creative flow directly on Instagram.

  5. Post-Publish Reels Cover Editing: You can now edit the cover image of a Reel after it’s been published. Whether you want to choose a different frame from your video or upload a new image from your camera roll, this feature gives you more flexibility to keep your profile looking consistent, especially with the new vertical profile grids Instagram is testing.

READ: ‘Mark Zuckerberg’s letter about Facebook censorship is not what it seems’ writes Vox. Mark Zuckerberg recently sent a letter outlining how the Biden administration pressured Facebook to censor COVID-19 misinformation, stirring up old controversies about free speech and tech company influence.

The article delves into why Zuckerberg chose this moment to reignite these issues, revealing the complex relationship between social media giants and government pressure and how this could impact upcoming political and legal battles.

LISTEN: Chris Williamson sits down with entrepreneur and business influencer Alex Hormozi and shares ‘23 Controversial Truths About Life’. On rare occasions, I will listen to podcast episodes twice, but this is one of those occasions. Hormozi has a way of distilling the truth about everyday challenges and then extracting proactive lessons to overcome those challenges.
