Olympians Are Churning Out More Content Than Ever

Hey Creators,

With the 2024 Paris Olympics kicking off in full swing, will Gen Z watch it?

(It’s funny how we look to the young generation as a validator for whether something is relevant or not.)

Before we jump into today’s Creator Toolkit, I’m writing to you from Cheltenham, a town in Gloucestershire, England!

After spending five weeks meeting with creators and the like across the US and bits of the UK, I’m off to spend this week living out my English countryside dreams.

I just arrived here a couple of hours ago after spending two nights in the picturesque Bath and man, was she gorgeous!

Here’s what you can expect in today’s newsletter:

  • Keep up to date with what’s happening in Quick Fire!

  • Social media Updates for this week

  • Vice President Kamala Harris's team is embracing the "Brat Summer" trend on TikTok, while Donald Trump's campaign is tapping into the growing Golf YouTube niche, featuring US PGA player Bryson DeChambeau that quickly amassed over 9 million views. Although creators entering politics can be risky, as seen with recent mixed reactions, some like The Sorry Girls have received positive feedback for their political content.

  • Olympians are sharing more content online than ever, making the Olympic Village a hub for engaging TikTok posts that showcase everything from eco-friendly but uncomfortable cardboard beds to the perks of being an Olympian.

  • Reddit has experienced the largest increase in average daily time spent by US active users among social networks, according to eMarketer's June 2024 forecast.

  • Major retail brands like Chanel and H&M appear to be abandoning X, with a surprisingly low number of posts in July 2024—a stark contrast to the platform's once vibrant engagement.
