A US-based media network, Tenet Media, which produces content for right-wing influencers like Benny Johnson and Tim Pool, was largely funded by Russian state-backed news outlet RT, according to a federal indictment. The US Department of Justice claims Tenet Media received nearly $10 million from RT to push pro-Kremlin content, while the influencers involved, who have large followings, say they were unaware of the Russian ties.
Following Brazil's ban of X due to its failure to curb misinformation, many Brazilian users are flocking to alternative platforms like Bluesky and Meta’s Threads. With X's local office shut down and no immediate plans for reinstatement, these competitors are seeing significant growth in the region.
ICYMI - Alex Cooper, the force behind the hit “Call Her Daddy” podcast, has signed a multiyear deal with SiriusXM worth up to $125 million, replacing Spotify as her main platform. Starting in 2025, the agreement will give SiriusXM exclusive rights to Cooper’s content and advertising, while “Call Her Daddy” will remain accessible on Spotify.
VidCon has been sold to Informa by Paramount Global, which is currently merging with Skydance. This move signals growing interest in the creator space. While VidCon has struggled to keep up with newer events, Informa's acquisition could give it a fresh boost and rekindle interest in the convention.
