YouTube Announces Game Changing Features For Emerging Creators
Hey Creators,
The social media platforms have returned from summer break in the US as they make big feature announcements this week.
Snapchat hosted its Partnerships Summit, Substack announced some exciting new tools, and Meta Connect will host a conference next week (you can keynotes and developer sessions live on Facebook.
BUT the most significant announcement for creators came from YouTube, which held their annual event, Made On, to YouTubers and key industry leaders in New York.
Who are the winners of the event? Emerging creators with 500-500k subscribers can get “Hype” from their audience, which will push them into the platform’s Explore page and receive wider exposure. This is a great new way for YouTubers to grow their reach.
How else can you benefit from YouTube’s announcements? Check out today’s top story.

Big YouTube stars are gobbling up most of the audience pie cough MrBeast, Cristiano Renaldo and x cough, so what’s left for the many emerging creators is often crumbs.
This is a big problem for YouTube.
Why? Well, if the little guys aren’t incentivised to create, then you have no future.
YouTube announced at it’s Made On event a tonne of products and features that benefit emerging creators, particularly those between 500-500k subscribers.
YouTube is adding Veo, Google’s AI video model, to Shorts, allowing creators to generate AI video backgrounds and six-second clips from text prompts via its Dream Screen. These clips will include a SynthID watermark to indicate AI content. Dream Screen, introduced last year, is now upgraded with more realistic AI backgrounds and standalone video clips.
The Inspiration tab in YouTube Studio is being upgraded to provide refined suggestions for developing fully-fledged projects. It curates trending topics tailored to your channel’s niche and helps you fine-tune titles, thumbnails, and outlines to match your style, making it easier to stay relevant and create engaging videos.
Communities are a new feature creators can add to their channel page to build stronger connections with their audiences, similar to a Discord server or group chat. This space allows both creators and subscribers to share artwork, photos, and ideas, and engage in discussions about the videos and topics they’re passionate about.
The Community Hub is an upgraded feature in the YouTube Studio app designed to help creators better understand and engage with their audience. It provides tools for managing interactions, including AI-enhanced comment reply suggestions, allowing creators to respond more efficiently as their audiences expand.
Dubbing is a new tool from YouTube that will enable creators to make their videos more accessible to a broader audience, regardless of language. In the coming months, the platform will expand this feature to hundreds of thousands of additional creators, allowing them to automatically add dubbed audio tracks to their content. This development is set to enhance global reach and improve the viewing experience for diverse audiences.
Hype is an exciting new feature aimed at helping creators with 500 to 500,000 subscribers grow their reach. This allows viewers to show extra support for a creator's video, which then appears on a leaderboard in the “Explore” section of the YouTube app.
The hype feature acts as an extension of the like button—after liking a video, viewers can click “hype” to boost it further, helping it gain visibility on a weekly leaderboard. This initiative is designed to rally fans around small to medium-sized creators, giving them a chance to gain recognition and connect with new audiences.
In the initial four weeks of the beta test, users hyped videos over 5 million times across 50,000 unique channels, demonstrating strong engagement and support for emerging creators. It’s important to note that hype results won’t impact YouTube’s recommendations or search rankings.
Currently, this feature is in beta on mobile in Brazil, Turkey, and Taiwan, with plans for a wider rollout to additional countries in the coming months. This is a fantastic opportunity for fans to help spotlight up-and-coming creators and enhance their visibility on the platform!

Gifts, powered by Jewels, will be available on vertical live streams, enabling viewers to react, show enthusiasm, and participate more actively. This will provide creators with a new opportunity to generate earnings on YouTube.
YouTube is enhancing its connected TV app to better compete with streaming platforms like Netflix. The upgrade will allow creators to organize content by episodes and seasons, include "immersive previews" that showcase cinematic trailers, and improve subscription options and QR code generation for audience growth. With over 10% of connected TV viewing and a growing number of creators earning revenue through TV, YouTube aims to blend the communal experience of traditional media with online content.
I’d love to know how you think this will benefit you.
